Geislinger Damper.

Tuned torsional vibration damper for diesel and gas engines with
long service life.

The Geislinger steel spring damper consists of a primary and a secondary section. Between these, groups of leaf spring packs are arranged, which are clamped at their outer ends.

These spring packs – together with the primary and secondary sections – form chambers which are filled with oil. If the exterior damper section vibrates in relation to the inner one, the leaf springs are bent and force the pressurized engine oil from one chamber into another, retarding the relative movement of the two parts and thus damping the torsional vibration.

Damper elasticity is determined by careful choice of the leaf springs. The damping factor is determined by the gap between the primary and secondary sections.
