The Vdamp is offered in diameters ranging from 400 to 3500 mm. The tuning of the damper parameters to the engine is done with the Geislinger torsional vibration calculation software especially by variation of shear gap geometry and silicone oil viscosity. Special temperature-stabilized, nonmixed silicone oils with a viscosity ranging from 60,000 to 600,000 mm2/s are used.
This viscous coupled damper with shear gap damping is applicable for all Diesel and gas engines. Low ambient temperatures enable high specific damper loads.With higher ambient temperatures, the heat conveyance can be enhanced by additional cooling measures like cooling fins or oil spray cooling.
