Geislinger GmbH will contribute two papers to be presented in the sessions “Powertrain Components – elastic couplings” as well as “Engine Development – future concepts.” Furthermore, the collaboration between Geislinger GmbH and Renk AG will be one subject of the session “Noise and Vibration”.
Picture 1: Beautiful Salzburg will be once again host of the international Torsional Vibration Symposium 2017.
The second Torsional Vibration Symposium, organised by the Vibration Association, will be held May 17th – 19th 2017 in Salzburg, Austria. The goal of the symposium is to organize a unique event for the international torsional vibration community. More than 200 experts from all fields of torsional vibration research are expected.
The Symposium is open to all fields of Torsional Vibration research, including:
Electric power generation
Industrial oil and gas applications
On and off highway applications
Picture 2: The first Torsional Vibration Symposium was held in 2014 - 186 participants from more than 20 countries listened to 36 presentations.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Pischinger, President & CEO of FEV Group Holding GmbH and Head of VKA – Institute of Combustion Engines of RWTH Aachen, Germany, will be the keynote speaker of the 2nd Torsional Vibration Symposium.
Supervised by an advisory board of international experts, specialists from the diverse fields of Torsional Vibration research will introduce the newest approaches to Torsional Vibrations and present the latest technologies and technical trends in their fields of expertise.
In order to cover the broadest range of high-level technical contributions from all over the world, the Scientific Program is structured into different Subject Areas. Almost 50 presentations covering the following Structured Sessions are expected:
Marine Propulsion – Responding to the latest Challenges
Marine Propulsion – Design and Development
Marine Propulsion – Navigating in Ice Conditions
System Parameter Identification
Simulation based System Design
Noise and Vibration
Powertrain Components – Elastic Couplings
Engine Development – Managing Vibrations at the Source
Engine Development – Future Concepts
Measurement and Monitoring
Rules and Regulations
System Reliability – Case Studies
Geislinger GmbH will hold presentations about the “Influence of Damping Factors on Coupling Applications” (session: Powertrain components – elastic coupling) as well as the “Effects on Engine and Vessel Operating Conditions on Torsional Vibration Dampers” (session: “Engine Development – future concepts”). Furthermore, together with Renk AG, Geislinger handed in a paper regarding “Vibration isolation of heavy machinery.”
The Symposium aims to encourage an exchange of information between torsional vibration engineers from universities, research institutes, consulting companies and many others. For more details please visit www.torsional-vibration-symposium.com.
Geislinger offers a perfect combination of lightweight and low maintenance solutions with our high performance lineup of the enhanced Gesilco® composite Couplings and the newest steel spring SAE Couplings. These Couplings provide excellent torsional features that are easily combined to a wide variety of interfaces.
In addition, other Geislinger products like the robust Gesilco® composite shaftline or Silenco® acoustic damping Coupling are excellent driveline system additions.
