Dr. Volkmar Burgstaller, the Geislinger facilities architect, was inspired by the manufacturing competence of the company in the field of shafts. In seeking to further develop Geislinger GmbH’s corporate architecture, the idea of designing new Geislinger street lights was born.
The street lights sit on an over 8 meter high mast with two LED elements on top. The mast was built using filament winding techniques whereas the top is made in a wet lay-up process. The total weight of one Geislinger Street light is 39 kilograms; therefore, it can easily be carried and installed by just two persons.
The corporate architecture at the Headquarters in Salzburg and all other locations is based on the philosophy of the magic of light which turns the corporate culture into a sensual experience. The new street lights, made of carbon fibre composite materials complete the HQ’s consistent architecture and create an ideal connection between interior and exterior. While visiting the Geislinger Headquarters in Salzburg during the day, visitors can get an idea of how the carbon fibre technology works. At nighttime, the sophisticated street lights illuminate the very frequented road.
A consistent design, based on the philosophy of reflecting dynamics, openness as well as vibration, can be seen at all Geislinger locations all around the world. Light plays a major role and with the new street lights which are customer-made and unique, Geislinger shows that it is interested in developing itself further.
Geislinger offers a variety of Gesilco® products manufactured from carbon fibre composite materials. Shafts up to a length of 10 meters as well as the Geislinger Compowind® with a diameter up to 3.5 meters can be manufactured at the production site in Carinthia. By designing and producing its own street lights, the innovation team has again proven its competence in the field of carbon fibre composite products.
