The Gesilco® Butterfly coupling is designed to compensate radial, axial and angular misalignments.
The main components of the Geislinger Gesilco® Butterfly coupling are its maintenance-free composite membranes, its composite shafts or one-piece intermediate sections, and its spacers for length adjustments to adapt to individual installation situations. Membranes, intermediate shaft and flanges are manufactured as a single piece made of advanced composite material. The halves of the coupling are bolted together at the flanges with fitted bolts. By using spacers with variable thicknesses, installation tolerances and the centering recess can be compensated.
Outstanding shock capabilities and excellent acoustic properties further endorse the use of the Gesilco® Butterfly in advanced high-speed vessels, as well as in applications where weight is a concern.
The lightweight coupling shows high chemical resistance, superior stability throughout its lifetimes and enables a highly flexible misalignment product design.
A compact version of the Gesilco® Butterfly is the Gesilco® Butterfly HSO. This coupling version enables shorter installation length and easy assembly through its innovative openings in the intermediate shaft.
The Geislinger Gesilco® product range is based on more than 25 years’ experience in developing fiber composite couplings and shafts. All Gesilco® products are manufactured in our Austrian Geislinger locations.
